The rhythm here goes something like this: coffee on the terrace, beach, a slow afternoon, and then dinner somewhere nearby. You will not eat badly on Thassos. The fish is fresh, the portions are big, and the prices are still reasonable compared to the southern islands. Here are the places we actually go to.

Breakfast and Brunch

Limanaki
Golden Beach, right by the water. Less than a 2-minute walk from Aurea Mare. Creative dishes, good coffee, nice cocktails later in the day too. It works from morning to evening. One of those places that does everything well without trying too hard.

Koursaros
Also on Golden Beach, right in front of the sea. A solid breakfast spot. Nothing complicated, just good food with your feet almost in the sand.

Dinner

Taverna Pefka
On Golden Beach, tucked under the pine trees right by the sand. Fresh seafood, fast service, and you're eating with the sea in front of you. A favourite among locals. The octopus meatballs are worth ordering.

Utopia Restaurant and Wine Bar
Up in Panagia village, about 10 minutes by car. Mediterranean with a modern touch, a proper wine list, and a setting that feels like a different world from the beach. Intimate, quiet, good for a special evening. If you enjoy wine, this is the place.

Mouses
In Limenas, right by the old harbour. Big traditional taverna with seafood, grilled meats, and Greek classics. They grow their own vegetables on a farm outside town, which you can taste. Generous portions, reasonable prices. It gets busy, so go a bit early or be patient.

Taverna Faros
In Kinira, about 20 minutes south. A smaller, quieter taverna with honest food and a beautiful coastal setting. Good if you're already exploring that stretch of coast or coming back from Paradise Beach. Feels like old Thassos.

Pefkospilia
On Pachis Beach, northwest coast, about 20 to 25 minutes from us. Restaurant and beach bar under massive pine trees, right on the sand. Seafood, traditional dishes, grilled meats. The setting is special, especially around sunset. It gets very busy in summer, so try to call ahead. Some evenings they have live Greek music, which is worth timing your visit for.

Sokratis Klisma Seafood
On the west coast at Skala Kallirachi, about 30 to 35 minutes by car. Your table is on a pebble beach, practically in the water. The fish is fresh, the octopus is some of the best on the island, and the sunset view across to the mainland is hard to describe. This is the kind of place that locals recommend to people they like. Worth the drive.

Drinks and Nightlife

Golden Beach faces east, so it quiets down after sunset. The evening scene is on the north and west coasts, a short drive away.

Limanaki
Yes, the same place. It shifts into a different mood in the evening. Cocktails, good music, and some nights they have live acts. The closest thing to a proper bar within walking distance of Aurea Mare.

Karnagio
In Limenas, on the rocky edge of the old harbour. Cocktails with a clear view west toward the mainland. This is where you go for a drink when you want to watch the sun go down properly. About 15 to 20 minutes by car.
